Each school day, students and staff spend 15 minutes reading whatever they choose. The purpose of the program is to encourage reading as a hobby and ultimately to increase our reading scores at Kimball High School. |
During the 2010-11 school year, 90% of students read one or more books during the reading time. Thirty-five percent of students read 4-6 books.
D.I.R.T. is enjoyable! When surveyed, nearly 90% of juniors responded they either always or sometimes enjoyed their daily reading time. |

Reading libraries have been added to classrooms to help students choose books written at their reading level. These book titles were chosen after accepting suggestions from students. |
