A leadership change is taking place in the Kimball Area School District’s Early Childhood Education department. Thank you to Kimball native Lisa Hennen, who has worked tirelessly the past six years to improve our Early Childhood Education department and steer the program in the right direction. Lisa has served in multiple positions in the program and most recently as the Early Childhood Education Coordinator since 2016. The Kimball graduate has accepted a Kindergarten teaching position in the district and we are grateful that Lisa will remain in the district as a strong liaison and supporter of Early Childhood Education.
“I love the Kimball school district and am proud that my own child attends Kimball,” said Hennen. “Early learning is my passion and I'm excited to return to the Kindergarten classroom.”
The district is pleased to announce that Colleen Nelson has accepted the Early Childhood Education Coordinator position heading into the 2020-21 school year. Colleen earned her degree in elementary education from the University of Illinois and has over 10 years of teaching experience, both in Kindergarten and Preschool. Colleen gained valuable coordinating experience working for the St. Cloud Youth Basketball Association for five years and is currently working at the College of St. Ben’s in the institution's library.
“I have a strong passion for early childhood education and I feel fortunate to be joining an experienced team of educators who have built a program based on encouraging children’s creativity through play in a warm, caring and supportive environment,” stated Nelson. “I am so excited to get to know the children and families of the Kimball community!”
The Kimball School District is committed to offering Early Childhood and Family Education (ECFE), preschool and enrichment programs in the Fall of 2020. Please email questions or concerns regarding these programs to Colleen Nelson at email@example.com or call the office at 320-398-7700 X 2802.
