The Kimball Area Public School District has released its opening learning model plan for the 2020-21 school year. After reviewing new district and county data in regards to 14-day COVID-19 case rates with Stearns County Public Health and the Minnesota Department of Health, as well as the District Incident Command Team, and looking at our level of preparedness and capacity to implement the required and recommended mitigation strategies as outlined by the Minnesota Department of Health, Kimball Area Public Schools will be starting the school year with Kimball Elementary students returning to school in the in-person learning model and Kimball Area High School students starting the school year in the hybrid model.
The 3-scenario plan was pushed out to families earlier this week and contains detailed information in regards to these individual learning models. https://www.kimball.k12.mn.us/o/district/page/distance-learning-covid-19--2
If you have specific questions related to your student, please reach out to your building principal. In reference to high school students, students be notified early next week whether they are a Blue Cub or a Gold Cub.
Our number one goal is to ensure the safety of all students, staff, and community members. We will continue to brief you routinely in regards to our learning models and other school related matters. Should there need to be a learning model shift, families will receive notice of a change 10 days prior to the learning model change. Please note, should MDE or MDH issue an emergency change order, this change could happen in 24 hours or less.
