Steve Rice
Class of 1985

Steve participated in football, basketball and baseball and was KHS Male Athlete of Year in 1985. He was a 3-year all-conference selection in all three sports. Steve earned 12 letters in football, basketball and baseball. Steve was a member of the National Honor Society for 3years and the Student Council for 3 years. In 1984, Steve was all-conference in football as running back and kicker and was selected as the Central MN Conference MVP Offensive Back. He earned all-conference 9 times during his career and All-Area 4 times. In football, Steve rushed for 2196 yards and 344 yards receiving scoring over 30 career touchdowns. He scored 295 points with 76 PAT’s and 13 field goals. On defense he had 99 tackles and 92 assists. He was also selected as the St Cloud Times Player of the Year and was the Associated Press All State Kicker.

After high school, Steve continued his football career playing for the Huskies at St Cloud State University. He lettered and earned All-NCC academic honorable mention in football and received the GTE Academic All-American Football award. He graduated from SCSU with Honors and earned a degree in Accounting from St Cloud State University in 1989.

Steve and his wife Carla, currently live in St. Michael, MN. They have 2 boys, Elijah 15 (Sophomore) and Ethan 13 (7th grade). Both boys are very active in school and sports, especially football this time of year. Carla works in St. Cloud for the law firm of Gray, Plant, Moody and Steve has worked for Ameriprise Financial for 22 years and is currently a Franchise Field Vice President. In their free time, the family enjoys spending time together, going to ball games and traveling when time permits.
