We're excited to begin 6:10 Connect, a student mentorship program connecting 10th grade mentors with 6th grade mentees where the goal is to provide a positive school connection for our 6th grade students.
6:10 Connect takes place on Mondays from 10:00-10:20 in the Media Center. After applying to be a mentor and completing a three-week training, mentors now follow a schedule that uses the acronym TAG (talk, academics, games). Each Monday has a focus on one of these areas and each month aligns with the Social Emotional Learning (SEL) theme the whole school is learning about.
The first two weeks of 6:10 Connect began to build the foundation of solid relationships. Students created and shared an "All About Me" bio and played Human Bingo.
Funding for 6:10 Connect is made possible by the Stearns County Family Services Collaborative. Upcoming Mentorship Mondays will include a focus on gratitude, holiday trivia, team building games, discussions about building good study habits and more.
