The cast of Kimball Area Theater’s spring play Clue brought the show to life on the stage of the Kimball Area High School cafetorium on April 4-6. The show ran four times, with the two April 5 shows featuring a dinner theater option. Kenzie Traurig directed the production, while Isabelle Miller served as the technical director and Lakatia Zimmerman served as the student director.
“We chose to do a comedy because we have a lot of students with great comedic timing,” said Traurig. “Clue is the number one play performed in high schools throughout the country. It was a fun choice for both the audience and students.”
A total of 37 students were part of the double-cast and crew.
“We had to double cast back in 2019 when we performed Cinderella,” stated Traurig. “It was a great way for our program to showcase all of our students’ talents here in Kimball. Both shows of Clue were different and funny in their unique ways.”
Kimball Area Theater had nine seniors perform in their last high school play this spring.
“This is one of the bigger senior classes we’ve had in my time here as director,” said Traurig. “They are some of the most dedicated and hard-working students I’ve worked with. They really care about the theater program and have all helped shape Kimball Area Theater into what it is now…and that’s pretty special.”
Those seniors include:
Maddy Groinus
Todd Sipe
Jordyn Theis
Laney Laudenbauch
Ellie Donnay
Hunter Gebhardt
Taylor Libbesmeier
Brooklyn Ochsendorf
Lakatia Zimmerman
“These sensors are leaving behind a lot of memories that not only include great performances, but also include a lot of laughs, tears, and great leadership,” added Traurig.
Kimball Area Theater now shifts gears for the upcoming summer community theater performance, Legally Blonde. Auditions are slated for May 19 and 20, with callbacks on May 21 at the high school. Sign-up for auditions here.
Community members entering 4th grade in the fall of 2025 and older are encouraged to audition, especially community members in their 20’s and 30’s.
Show dates for Legally Blonde are set for August 1, 2, 8 and 10.
