The Kimball Area Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE) Holiday Make & Take event will be held tonight, Monday, Dec. 16, from 6-7 pm at the Kimball Area Early Childhood Wing. This FREE event is available for all of our local families with children ages 0-5. There will be crafts, games, snacks and family fun for all. Families can park in the south lot at the elementary and enter door #1. There is limited parking in the small northeast lot. If you park there, please enter door #9 by the Early Childhood lobby. The Kimball Area VRC high school and middle school teams competed at PACT Charter School on Dec. 14. Teams 739A and 739B advanced to the semi-finals, but fell short to the eventual tournament champions. Team's 739B skills score earned them an invite to the upcoming 2025 State Championships as well. To date, Kimball high school teams 739 B, D and F have qualified for State. Way to go Cubs! #KimballRobotics

Congratulations to the Kimball Area Vex IQ Robotics teams that competed at Royalton on Dec. 14. Team 55353E Banana Monkeys earned the Design Award while Team 55353B Trash Pandas tabbed the Innovate Award. Teams 55353C G.H.O.S.TS and 55353D Cybersharks placed 2nd overall while winning the Teamwork Award. Lastly, Team 55353B Trash Pandas inked the Teamwork Championship. Way to go Cubs! #KimballRobotics

History was made today as Kimball Athletics had its first varsity girl's wrestling meet at Delano on Dec. 14. The Cubs have four girls participating in wrestling during the 2024-25 stint. Junior grappler Abby Fischer led all wrestlers today with two pins and first place honors. Veronica Reek, a sophomore at Kimball, placed second overall, going 1-1 on the mat. She charted her first career pin on the day. Sophomore Kylie Van Nurden went 1-2 overall, including her first career pin as well, to tab third place honors. The Cubs were rounded out by junior Gabby Davis who competed in three matches. "These girls showed a lot of heart and all wrestled very well today," said head coach Mike Schindler. "We are proud of all of them!" Way to go Cubs! #KimballWrestling #KimballProud

Kimball senior football player, Hank Meyer, was honored before the boy's basketball game on Dec. 10. Activities Director Clay Anderson presented Meyer with his MN Football Coaches Association Class AA All-State Academic award in front of the Cubs fans in the Wirth Gymnasium. Meyer has also been selected as one of 32 players in the state to participate in the 2024 Vikings/Gatorade All-State game this weekend at the U.S. Bank Stadium. Kimball boy's basketball hosted Dassel-Cokato for their season opener on Dec. 10 and earned a clean sweep over the Chargers. The C-squad erased an 8-point deficit in the final minutes and gained a thrilling 46-45 victory on a last-second three-point shot by Jonah Klein. The Cubs JV team defended the den with a solid 66-61 win over DC. Led by Owen Mortenson and Bryant Knaus, the varsity squad outlasted the physical Chargers with a convincing 78-69 victory.
