Boys Wrestling traveled all the way up to Parker's Prairie for an individual wrestling tournament on Saturday, Jan. 11. Parker's Prairie places the top 3 wrestlers only, and Kimball had 6 wrestlers that placed at this event. The wrestlers placing were:
Mark Schiefelbein (152) 1st, Jonny Serbus (152) 3rd, Frank Schiefelbein (160) 3rd, Garret Rosenow (215) 3rd, Miles Looman (121) 3rd, Teagan VanNurden (114) 2nd.
Kimball also had two JV wrestlers place in the top 2 for the JV tournament, Cody Hendricks placed 1st and Jack Schiefelbein placed 2nd. Kimball varsity placed 3rd as a team. Go Cubs!!
Kimball girl's wrestling had a strong showing at the Parker's Prairie Tourney on Jan. 11. Sophomore Veronica Reek led the Cubs, going undefeated on the day with a 2-0 record to earn 1st place in her weight class. Kylie VanNurden, another sophomore wrestler, went 2-1 to bring home 2nd place honors. Junior Gabby Davis tallied 3rd place with a 1-2 mark while Abby Fischer rounded out the team score placing 4th place in a very tough and competitive weight class. Kimball girl's basketball earned a clean sweep over Osakis on Jan. 10. Varsity upended the Silverstreaks 54-40, the JV was victorious 31-22, while the C-squad edged Osakis 26-24. Way to go Cubs! #KimballHoops
Senior guard Brandon Henkemeyer led all scorers with 21 points as the Kimball boy's basketball squad tabbed a convincing 66-46 Central Minnesota Conference win at Royalton on Jan. 10. The Cubs are off to a 4-0 start in conference action and are 5-2 overall in the 2024-25 stint. Way to go Cubs! #KimballHoops
Kimball boy's basketball earned a clean sweep over Paynesville on Jan. 9. Bryant Knaus sealed a thrilling varsity victory with a fast break dunk under 10 seconds to lift the Cubs to a 74-69 conference triumph. Kimball JV cruised past the Bulldogs 60-39, while the C-squad Cubs edged Paynesville 39-34. Way to go Cubs! #KimballHoops

Give back to your local community through scholarships for our graduating senior class!
35 students in grades 3-8 were able to participate in the SPARK STEM program put on by Resource Training and Solutions at St Cloud State University on Tuesday, January 7. It was a great day of learning and doing. Students were able to attend a keynote speaker, Dazzling Dave the yo-yo master. They also participated in sessions about robotics, electrical engineering, the engineering design process, and native species of MN.
Kimball Area's National Honor Society has scheduled its annual Spaghetti Dinner Fundraiser for Thursday, Jan. 9, from 4:30-7:00 pm in the high school cafetorium.
Dinner tickets will be sold at door #10 on the south side of the facility. Adults (ages 13+) are $10, students (ages 5-12) are $5 and children 4 years of age and younger are free.
The dinner will include one plate of spaghetti (with or without meat sauce), a breadstick, salad, a lemonade drink and one dessert choice.
Curbside pick-up orders will also be available on Jan. 9.
Proceeds from the event will go towards the Kimball Area NHS community projects and membership.

Congrats to the Kimball Area youth boy's basketball teams (Gr. 4-6) that competed in the 2025 Kimball Bear Claw Classic on Jan. 5 at the high school. The 6th grade team placed 2nd overall while the 5th grade team brought home a 3rd place medal.
