The EVW-K Track & Field program was grateful to bring back the Youth Track & Field program this summer through Community Education. There were 37 tracksters (Gr. PreK-6) from EVW-K. Led by head coach Jason Mortenson, the young athletes had three practices on the KAHS track before participating in three triangular events in Kimball (June 8), Paynesville (June 14) and ACGC (June 16). The young athletes had their choice to compete in the following events at each competition: 50M Hurdles, 100M Dash, 400M Dash, Discus, Long Jump, Shot Put, 200M Dash, 4x1 Relay and the 800M Run. Congratulations to the EVW-K Girl's Track & Field team who won the 2022 State Class A Championship on June 10! Ellie Kuechle defended her State Championship in the 400m, setting a new school record, while the Girl's 4x400 relay earned State Championship medals as well. Additional top-5 finishes and school records were broken by the girls in multiple events, including Brookelyn Kuechle in the 800m (4th place), Jocelyn Zoller in the 300m Hurdles (5th place), Girl's 4x200 (3rd place), Girl's 4x100 (5th place). The EVW-K Boy's team was well represented by their relay teams, finishing in 4th (4x200) and 6th (4x100) place overall in the state. Way to go tracksters! #StateChamps #StrongerTogether



EVW-K tracksters had a successful day at the State Championships on June 9. Ellie Becker placed 3rd in the high jump (5'3") while Ellie Kuechle took 5th in the long jump. New school records were set as individuals & relay teams advanced to the Finals on June 10. #StrongerTogether

The Class A State Track and Field meet will be held on Thursday, June 9th and Friday, June 10th at St. Michael-Albertville High School.
We will have a state send-off on Thursday, June 9th. The send-off will start at 1:20 in the Brooks St. Lobby at the EVW High School. We will then head to Kimball High School for a send-off starting at 1:45.
