Kimball varsity baseball earned a big 3-2 CMC victory over Royalton when senior Bryant Knaus scored from 3rd base on a walk-off wild pitch in the bottom of the 10th inning at Express Field. Knaus started the game on the mound and pitched 6 strong innings while senior Brandon Henkemeyer came in for relief. Way to go Cubs!

**Record Breaker**
Congratulations to Ellie Becker, she broke the Girls Pole Vault record on Friday at Maple Lake. Ellie vaulted 10'1".
The old record was 10'0 held by Macki Nelson, in 2010. Congratulations Ellie!

The Kimball Area Early Childhood Literacy Night on April 15 was a success. Over 20 families, including 30 children, enjoyed a fun evening exploring Pete the Cat through books, activities, ice cream and family fun. #KimballECFE

Kimball Area Early Childhood is hosting its annual Literacy Night tonight, April 15, from 5:30-7:00 pm in the new Early Childhood wing at the Kimball Elementary School. All families in the Kimball Area with children ages birth-5 will enjoy an evening exploring the wonderful world of Pete the Cat through books, activities and family fun. There will be an Ice Cream Truck at the event. Cash, credit and Venmo will be accepted for purchases. All proceeds go towards the Kimball Area Early Childhood program. The Kimball Athletic Department would like to Congratulate our Head Football Coach and Athletic Director Clay Anderson on his induction to the Minnesota Football Coaches Association Hall of Fame.
Clay Anderson is a 1982 graduate of Northfield H.S. and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Exercise Studies from St. Olaf College in 1986 and his Masters in Education from St. Mary’s University in 2008.
He began his coaching career in Northfield as a junior high coach in 1987. From 1989-1996 he was defensive coordinator for Northfield H.S. Clay has had 26 seasons as a head coach: Le Center (1997-1999), Norwood Young America (2000-2004), Albert Lea (2005-2010), Benton Community, IA (2011-2013), Pipestone (2015-2019) and Kimball Area (2020-Present).
Clay has coached in seven state championship football games: three as defensive coordinator at Northfield H.S. (1993, 1994, & 1996) and four as a head coach (1999 - Le Center), (2002 - NYA) and (2015 & 2017 - Pipestone). Clay has twice been selected as the Class “AA” Coach of the Year in Minnesota (2002 - NYA, 2017 - Pipestone). Clay has been a frequent clinic presenter in Minnesota, Wisconsin, and South Dakota. He has also been an activities director for 23 years.
This past fall was Clay’s 37th year in coaching, and during that time he has filled many roles within the Minnesota Football Coaches Association, including serving on the executive committee, being the chairmen of the Mr. Football committee from 2004-2011 & 2019-present, served on the Football Advisory Committee to the MSHSL, coached in the All-Star game in 2000 & 2011, and was the President of the Minnesota Football Coaches Association in 2006.
Clay, currently the activities director and head football coach at Kimball Area High School, is married to Melissa Radeke (superintendent, Lester Prairie Schools) and resides in Dassel, Minnesota. Clay has one daughter, Kalah (Bryan) and one granddaughter, Lily. Clay also has three stepchildren, Hona (Kevin), Maddie (Luke) and Cooper (Catie) and five step-grandchildren (Soren, Kathryn, Elizabeth, Pax, and Margaret).
We are so PROUD to have Clay as the Kimball Cubs head football coach, Athletic Director and Teacher!

Kimball volleyball players in 5th and 6th grade had a busy week playing REC playdates at Annandale and Litchfield on April 8 and 10, while the two 12U Junior Olympic volleyball squads competed at Litchfield on April 12. Way to go Cubs! #KimballCommunityEd









Kimball varsity baseball strung together 6 runs in the top of the 6th inning to come from behind and defeat Spectrum 6-1 in non-conference action on April 11. The Cubs improve to 2-1 overall in the spring season. Way to go Cubs!

**Alumni Alert**
Kimball Schools had a special guest stop by to visit on Tuesday, former teacher and wrestling coach Kayo Aslagson. Mr. Aslagson brought Carly Serbus some wrestling memorabilia of her family (Schiefelbein family) that he collected over the years from his time at Kimball Schools, 1972-2003.
Mr. Aslagson taught shop for 31 years for Kimball and coached Kimball Wrestling for 20 of those years. We love seeing our Alumni, thanks for the visit Kayo, it was great to see you!! :)
