Greetings Kimball Families and Staff,
As we gear up for another exciting school year, there’s an extra sense of anticipation as facility renovations in the district begin.
You may have already noticed the temporary fencing up around the northeast corner of the elementary school. Construction is starting this month on the new early childhood wing, which will continue until late spring of 2024.
Here are some important updates about the impacts of construction so far:
Parking: There is no parking in the northeast parking lot at KES. You are free to park in any of the other school lots and on Hazel Avenue. More parking is available in the community education building lot (14 Magnus Johnson St S) on the west side of the elementary school.
Pick up/drop off: Families of K-5 students should pick up and drop off at Door 8 on the east side of the building, as usual.
Throughout construction, our district will work to ensure minimal disruptions. Please stay tuned for more updates as renovations move forward by visiting OurCubsOurFuture.org.

Kimball Theatre is hosting auditions for its upcoming fall musical, The Little Mermaid, on Aug. 16 and 17 from 3-7 pm in the choir room at the high school. Due to the weather, the Junior High Football Camp for 7th and 8th graders has been moved inside on August 14 to the cafetorium at the high school. Camp runs from 8-11 am. This MSHSL mandated meeting is held once a year for ALL sports and activities (Fall, Winter, Spring). If you plan on participating in any season for sports or activities, you need to attend. Fall Varsity/JV Coaches will meet with athletes after the meeting to hand out schedules. All other sports/activities can leave after the meeting.

Kimball’s 12U softball team took 4th place in the Crow River tournament on July 30 in Hutchinson. The Cubs went 1-2 on the day (W 4-2, L 6-7, L 12-13), including three close games and falling short by one run in both losses. Congrats on a great season. #KimballSoftball
Congratulations to the Kimball Babe Ruth Baseball squad that finished their 2023 summer stint at the State Championships on July 28 in Bemidji. The Cubs went 1-2 in the 16-team tourney, including a 14-10 victory over Walker on the Bemidji State home field. #KimballBaseball
